Julio Cesar believes Inter Milan have changed after Leonardo’s arrival
Inter Milan goalkeeper, Julio Cesar believes that the local city rivals and the table toppers AC Milan should be concerned about the form that Internazionale have hit after the arrival of their new coach Leonardo. The Brazilian
coach was first appointed as a manager for AC Milan, but after failing miserably there, he got the opportunity to join the other Milan side, Inter.
The Portuguese tactician helped the Nerazzurri become the first ever Italian team to win the treble during his last year at the club. In addition, after winning the UEFA Champions League with the same team, it was for the first
time that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan had won the European gold in 45 years.
La Beneamata were struggling in the Italian Serie A after Jose Mourinho decided to leave the Italian club. Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager, Rafael Benitez took charge of the club after Mourinho’s departure in June 2010. However, the Spanish
manager could not really help the champions in any way. All that Benitez could accomplish with such an extraordinary football playing squad was the FIFA Club World Cup trophy. Inter dropped a lot of points in the Serie A table and sunk down to the seventh
spot. In the UEFA Champions League, the failure continued as the Italian Champions suffered a loss against Tottenham Hotspur and ended as runners-up in their group.
With Rafael Benitez failing to resurrect the Italian side, it definitely looked like he would be sacked by the Italian side. As expected, former Milan coach Leonardo replaced Rafael in December 2010. Since Leonardo’s arrival, things
have been relatively easier for the Italian Champions as they have not suffered a single loss. The players seem to be satisfied with their performance and after a few signings, Inter Milan are back on track.
The Brazilian goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-Cesar-c19961 recently recovered from an injury and made a comeback to become a part of Inter Milan’s first team. With the Brazilian goalkeeper returning to full form, he saw Inter Milan getting back in
form as well. After winning 5-3 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 over the weekend, Julio Cesar said, "I am very pleased with the match that I played tonight.
“We have sent a message to all the team ahead of us.
"Now, we have the opportunity to play with them and aim for the Scudetto. I am happy to have given my contribution to the match, espeically in the first-half with my saves.
"In a month, everything has changed. The important thing is to take advantage of the slip-ups by our rivals that are ahead of us. Milan should be worried about us.
"I have been at the top of the ladder before, and losing points to those below is not a good thing," he concluded.
After the win, Inter Milan crawled up to the third position in the Italian Serie A points table, with only five points behind AC Milan. However, Inter Milan still have a match in hand, which will be played on 13 February against
Juventus. Should they win the match, the lead gap will be reduced to two points only.
