The veteran Nerazzurri goalkeeper has dampened all speculation linking him with a move to Inter’s rivals, AC Milan, and reiterated that he will stay at the club.
The Brazilian national has denied any rumours linking him with a move away from Inter Milan, and mentioned that the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Handanovic-c32356 would only intensify the competition within the team.
He reiterated that such competition was healthy for a team, as the best starting line-up would be motivated and playing to their true potential.
Handanovic is coming from Udinese, a deal which was a player-plus-cash move. Inter agreed to give 11 million Euros to the Zebrette. Cesar was not disturbed by his arrival, and stated that the newly signed goalkeeper is not his
replacement.
The shot-stopper went on to state that he had no intentions of leaving the club and was looking forward to competing for his position. He was giving an interview to Sky Sport 24 and was quoted to have said:
“I have a contract until 2014, and am an employee of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567’s. I think I will stay and play for my position, Inter have a great squad and a great way of playing.”
Cesar has been struggling with form and was not at his high standards in the last campaign. Even though, he has been a long servant at the club, Inter have moved for Handanovic in order to have a quality goalkeeper at their disposal.
The Brazilian’s wife has been critical of Inter, and tweeted that the club needs to show loyalty to the goalkeeper, who has been a loyal servant of them for many campaigns. Cesar did not give any comments on his wife’s rant, but
he denied any potential move by commenting:
“There is absolutely nothing in those rumours, everyone talks about me but there’s nothing. Officially there is nothing.”
Inter Milan have rescinded the contracts of many of their aging stars, which has seen Cesar’s national team-mates in Maicon and Lucio, leaving the club. Lucio underwent his medical at Juventus yesterday, whereas, Maicon’s future
destination is uncertain.
The full-back has had interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Real Madrid for his services.
