  2. I'm a Chavez, Jr. fan.  You can see his raw talent developing, but he's not ready for Pavlik now.  But in 3 years, I think he'll be ready. I think Chavez Jr.'s upside goes farther than Pavlik's, and they will be evenly-matched at that time.  Definitely a fight to look forward to.

  3. at this time, pavlik would win and i don't think it will be close. first, moving weights is hard enough and even harder when you go up. second, maybe 2 to 3 fights at that weight before pavlik would be smart. third, pavlik is no joke!

  4. I'm a Big Pavlik fan ever since he knocked out that fool Taylor and beat him but also a big Chavez fan this fight i really don't think will happen. but if it does right now Pavlik would win since he is on the top of his game but Chavez is a lightweight so it wont happen. but if it does i really don't know who 2 root for

  5. It wouldn't be a fight. It would be a Massacre. Julio is not ready. and even when he is ready by 2011 Pavlik will probably still kick his butt. Sorry man! Maybe if they fought in 2020 he might win!

  6. There is no way of knowing

  7. Chavez jr. is not close to unifying anything at this moment.  He is still 4-5 fights away from a title shot, unless his handlers try to push him too hard.   Then consider the 154 title is spread out among 4 fighters (Forrest, Alcine, Dzinziruk, & Phillips) so thats 4 more fights.  By the time Chavez did unify, Pavlik would have already made the move up to 168 (a move he plans to make soon anyway).  Pavlik might already be up at 175 for all we know.

Just for the sake of argument lets say Chavez moved up today to face Pavlik.  Pavlik would easily dispatch Chavez, probably within 5 rounds.  Pavlik is too big, has really good power, and decent handspeed.  Chavez is still wirey for 154 and this would be worse at 160, his punches arent straight and his handspeed isnt better than Pavlik so beating Kelly to the punch isnt an issue, he doesnt have a jab, and is prone to being hit himself.  Basically it would be a disaster for Chavez.

Don't be fooled by the records of the guys Chavez beats, the last 2 Celeya & Sanchez have never beaten anyone of note, while Grover Wiley is literally a used care salesman.  Chavez next fight against Loriga will tell us alot about him because its by far his best opponent to date.
