I'm sure the majority of you know that Julio won by Ko last saturday and is now 36 and 0 with 29 ko's. Does anyone think that carlos baldomir would be a good opponent for him? even though carlos last fight he won by majority decision against a guy that has 15 winds and 8 losses last November?

  1. i beleive this is uneven match  because bladomir has fought a lot of experienced dudes and chavez has not

i dont know who will win

    carlos has more power

    julio has more speed

    but this match is like

    shaun alexander vs adrian peterson

    both good but very uneven

  2. baldomir has to much experiance. And their is no way jr would knock baldi out. Jr would either get KO or lose a majority decision. No way bob arum would put him in with baldi he ain't stupid. I think his next fight might be agaisnt macho jr that would be a decent fight. The battle of the jr.s. The dads fought each other now the sons

  3. Carlos would be the worse mistake of that kids life. Baldomir isn't a great fighter but he has world class experience and was once a world champion. Baldomir can come forward and overwhelm Chavez Jr and Carlos spars with Mayweather and has fought Zab Judah and better opponents than Chavez that fight would be to much of a step up for him. I could see Chavez in with a guy like David Estrada,Miguel Hernandez from contender someone that has a name but isn't world class. Chavez needs a tough fighter that can challenge him but not embarrass him.

  4. I am really not sold on Chavez, Jr. yet, but if I was Bob Arum (his promoter), I would not hesitate to put him in with Carlos Baldomir because even though it would be a faded and worn-down Baldomir, it would still be a former world champ on your record.  I think that Baldomir is just worn down enough to lose to Chavez, Jr. but still make it a competitive fight and tough win for Julio.  Baldomir has looked like c**p in his last few fights, and I think that he is done at the top level of the sport.  He had a nice little run, but after the loss to Mayweather, Jr. he has not been imressive at all and almost lost to the journeyman fighter that you mentioned.  Chavez, Jr. is still fighting no names, but I think that he is good enough at this stage to beat a guy like Baldomir who does not really have anything left.  If Chavez, Jr. were to face someone in the true top 10 rankings who has something left to give, then I think that he would get beat easily.  That won't happen anytime soon though because he is being spoon-fed guys with good records on paper, but when you actually take a look at their records, they have not fought anyone of note (like his last fight against Giuseppe Loriga and his upcoming fight with Hector Camacho, Jr.).
