July 27 - too late to plant herb garden?

Question

I want to plant fresh herbs for containers - cilantro, basil, thyme, oregano, etc. If I start now, would it be too late? I am a total gardening newbie, but I want nice fresh herbs so I don't have to buy them from the store. By the way, I'm in Northern California near the coast. Daily temps average in the 70's and 50's at night. Thanks!

Not at all.Put them in pots so you can take them in when the weather changes.
