Jumeirah Palm Star likely to prevail in Ebbisham Lane Handicap
Jumeirah Palm Star is likely to shine in the Ebbisham Lane Handicap at Epsom in England on Thursday, July 19, 2012. A victory will earn her owner, Hamed Rashed Bin Ghadayer, a cash prize of £3,235 in the end.
A total of nine runners have been attracted towards the 1 mile, 114 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 20:50 GMT. Moreover, the going will be good because the weather has improved a lot since yesterday. There were a few soft patches on the track
in the morning, but they will not affect the overall result in the end.
However, more rain is expected in the day, which might change the situation entirely for all runners. At the moment, the conditions are quite suitable for Jumeirah Palm Star, who is carrying the winning momentum right now. She has been given a general starting
price of 10 to 1 by the bookies and the punters will also be interested in risking bets on her.
The three-year-old filly has participated in just seven races since making her debut in June 2011. She was unable to deliver a strong show in her first ever event, despite the fact that she was given a reasonable starting price of 5 to 1 back then.
Invincible Spirit’s daughter took part in a couple of more events that year, but failed to get the attention of anyone because of her average performances. She was rested for quite some time before finally reappearing in the ongoing season at Lingfield.
The Richard Hannon’s trainee was priced 2 to 1 in her comeback race and she managed to cause and upset, beating Shame On You by half a length. Her speed was good, which helped her take the top spot in that event.
Just a couple of more races later, Jumeirah Palm Star triumphed in another race, despite not being rated as the favourite to do well in it. She was priced 14 to 1 back then and had to fight hard in order to take the top spot. She only succeeded by a head
distance in the end, which was quite impressive.
The young filly will be accompanied by Kieran O'Neill in the race today.
