  1. Ten to follow: 1 Nicanor, irish horse has had injury problems but the only horse ever to beat Denman.

2 Binocular, Classy young horse who improved bucket loads last season will be hard to peg back.

3 Tidal Bay, top class horse who won the arkle by 13l last term, may step up to 3 miles, this will suit, has bags of stamina.

4 Kasbah bliss, second to inglis drever in world hurdle last year  still improving.

5 Jered, another excellent young hurdler owned by J.P McManus who won the novice hurdle at the puchestown festival in a canter.

6 Oslot, one of paul nicholls who won the valuble galway plate a couple of weeks ago. looks very smart will be up to winning good races.

7 Master minded, another of Paul Nicholls horses who won the queen mother last term and currently rated better than Denman and kauto star will not be beaten over fences at 2 miles.

8 Neptune Collonges, improving Grey who will be prominent in big three miles races if continuing to improve at the rate he has been.

9 Crack away jack, won the fred winter last year coming from knowhere looks very smart prospect.

10 Big Bucks, found optimum trip at 3 miles too late last season as could win a couple of decent prizes .

  2. Nick Henderson's 'Binocular' could have a good season if he keeps clear of injury. He's only a 4 year old but ran really well in the Supreme Novices before winning easily at Aintree.

Another of Henderson's, 'Punjabi' is also worth keeping an eye on.

  3. Six of Paul Nichol's horses to start you off:-

    Kauto Star

    Denman

    Neptune Collonges

    Mr Pointment

    Thisthatandtother

    Twist Magic

    EDIT: 12th August:

If its more a rising star that's required would like add

    KATCHIT

to the list winner of the JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham last year beating Liberate by 9 lengths,

Moobashir 3rd and Punjabi in 4th a further 7 lengths behind.

He is only a 5 year old so has lots of improvement in him.

    Good Luck....Jacqui

  4. i would try and pick some horses that look to have potential for more improvement.the likes of kauto star and denmen are already proven and you wont get rich backing those kind of horses.

gold award is a horse who found the first time big field in the cheltenham festival bumper and showed inexeperience and wasnt knocked about by fitzgerald but ran on well up the hill.

  5. cousin vinney
