Here is a picture of me and my horse at a jumping show.

It's not a very good picture but I need to work on my jumping position a lot and I was a hoping for a few tips on how to help it out.

  1. I would lean forward just a little bit more, on your two point.

  2. You look very round.  Try to keep your back straighter and keep your shoulders back even when you 2-point over the jumps.  Practice your 2-point at the walk and trot... let your stomach drop down to the horse and keep your shoulders up so your back is arched.  Your chest should always point forward... sort of as if you have a big stick sticking out of your chest and you need it to point over the horse's head, right through between his ears!  Don't just lean forward at the jumps... it's more of a rotation of your pelvis while your upper body doesn't really change.  Right now it looks like you're just bending over the horse.  Your back needs to stay a lot straighter and arch a lot more.

You could also keep your heels down a bit more and point them a little more forward over the jumps... they're not bad now, but I really shove my heels down at every jump.

    Just keep working on it!
