  1. COUNTY saddles are my absolute favorite

thats the innovation, and it's an amazing saddle. depending on your price range, countys might not be the best option as they range from 3000-6000 dollars. but it's worth a look. You can often find good counties on ebay. Find a Saddle fitter who likes counties and see if she/he can come out and see if ti would be right for your horse! good luck!

  2. Cost is a HUGE consideration as saddles for jumping can cost from as little as a few hundred dollars for a Wintec synthetic to many thousands for brands like Devacoux.

    What is your budget?

In the sort of mid-price range, I like Collegiate and Bates, especially with the changeable gullet system.  But I'm sure there is better quality available at higher price ranges.

I'm told that Devacoux is currently "the thing" for those who can afford one.

  3. We only allow our riders the choice of 3 saddles: The Pessoa A/O, the County Stabilizer, or a Tad Coffin A5. They are great for the horses and for the rider. The Pessoa is most affordable, but the Stabilizer and A5 are better for horses with sensitive backs.

  4. None of the ones listed above. The Beval Butet saddle is hands down the best. This saddle is used by the best in the business and in the grand prix show ring. It puts you in the correct position, will last for years, and is the best quality. Hand made in France. Pricey, but worth it and eventually pays off.

  5. Stubben Siegfried, VSJ.

I've had my siegfried (VSJ) since '72, my parzival a 60's version as well but it's VSD (Dressage).  I've had others but these two are STILL with me.

  6. I recommend the "Stubben Roxane S" (not the VSS, they are different--the VSS is an all-purpose saddle).  It puts your leg in just the the right spot and has a nice deep seat.  Some places will list this saddle as a close contact saddle, but if you go to Stubben's website, you will see that it really is a jumping saddle and that's how they catgorize it.  They should know, they are the ones that make it!

A lot of the top jumping professionals are using this saddle now because it's so good.  In particular, Aaron Vale, world record holder for the most Grand Prix wins in one year.

  7. Stubben Sigfreid   forward seat

  8. The show team I ride with usually picks Amerigo and Bruno Delgrange I personally ride in a Bruno Delgrange and feel that it truly supports me over jumps. Antaries are also a very very good brand of french saddles. the best saddle depends what suits you and your horse, its not nessasaraly the most expensive. I know many riders who ride in the Pessoas and like them and there not alot of money compared to the first 3 meantioned. Hermes is prob the most expensive one you will find ranging into the $10,000 mark ( its a designer name brand he also does insanly $$$ handbags ) the hermes is not worth it personally. the Amerigos will range between $3,500 to $5,000 the Bruno Delgrange will Range fron $4,500( used )  to $6000 and Antaries are around $4,500 ( u get to custom pick everything on them ) prestige is a good brand in the $4500 mark too and Jaguar is about $3,300

  9. Pessoa or HDR
