http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Junaid-Khan-c77037, is looking ambitious after his recovery from injury and hopes to make his comeback to the national team in the series against Sri Lanka, scheduled in May 2012.
The 22-year-old youngster caught an abdominal injury during the final ODI match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in Abu Dhabi last year in November. Since then, he is occasionally seen in the team and was not included in the Asia Cup squad which returned successful after
registering the tournament a second time in their name.
“Missing out on events such as the Asia Cup did hurt a lotBut I am not disappointed because I believe it’s a temporary setback,” said the pacer.
Junaid has set high targets for himself and is seriously dedicated to his passion despite of injuries. He believes that all the great cricketers went through the same situation at some stage of their career as he is going to pass through it with determination.
“Great bowlers like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193 went through similar phases during their careers but they managed to become legends of the game,” said the injured bowler.
Despite the fact that the left-arm bowler didn’t give an impressive impression in his very short on-going career, he still become the choice of selectors as a replacement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675.
Junaid made his international ODI debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 in the same year. Though the opening games of both the formats were not eventful for the pacer, later he proved his worth while picking up
his career best 5/38 in Tests and 4/12 in the limited-over game.
Khan however, has a stiff competition ahead of selection in the squad for the next series, as the other emerging pacers like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Khalil-c77063 are also going on good notes nowadays.
“I’m working on new deliveries to improve as a bowler-one is a deceiving swing delivery and the other is a reverse-swing delivery. I’m giving these two a lot of time these days,” said Junaid.
