The rookie http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292, for recommending him to the Lancashire county.
The 21-year-old left-arm medium pacer is pleased with his start to the county cricket with the Lancashire CCC as and said that his performance has so far been very good. He, however, was grateful to the Pakistan pace bowling great, Wasim Akram for earning
him a call from the county.
“I'm really grateful to Wasim for recommending me to Lancashire,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Junaid-Khan-c77037 in an interview. “I've not played a lot of international cricket and have not had many opportunities to impress any County coaches and chairmen, but Lancashire took on board
Wasim's recommendation and gave me a chance,” he added further.
Junaid Khan claimed that his economy rate in the ongoing Friends life T20 tournament is the best among all the overseas players. He has also played in a Clydesdale Bank 40 match and picked up four wickets in that match as well. He said that he was pleased
with his performance so far.
“The opportunity to play for Lancashire was just fantastic,” said Junaid. “I didn't have to think twice about such a brilliant chance to further my cricketing education at such a fantastic County side,” he added further.
He said that working with a coach of Peter Moores' status was a marvellous opportunity for him. He said that Moores is an experienced coach and he had learnt a lot from him at the Old Trafford.
He also thanked his Lancashire teammates for providing him such a warm welcome at the county. He further added that he feels so much at home at Lancashire and if his international commitments allowed him, he would love to come back to Old Trafford.
Junaid Khan, who is yet to debut on the Test arena, made his One Day International debut in April earlier this year against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 at Gros Islet and has so far represented Pakistan in seven ODIs picking up nine wickets at an average of 24.77.
He is also part of the Pakistan squad to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 later this month and has vowed to prove a point during the itinerary.
