Junebugs????

These 1 inch long reddish bugs (junebugs) are constantly flying into my house when i try to keep it cool inside.

anyone had this problem?

any advice on how to stop them?

  1. Make sure that there are no gaps in the door and windows to allow them from coming inside, Remember the June Bugs undergo metamorphosis and turn into Monarch Butterflies! so don't kill them.

You can purchase beetle traps at most hardware stores.  Set them up and they lure the bugs to them.  They work we use them to keep the Beetles out of our garden.  There larva state is the grub worm,  they turn in to Japanese beetles and eat anything green.   You can also put out grub granules to kill them earlier in the spring before they change.  They both work.  Hope this helps.  But these bugs are more of a reg/green color.  If you are talking about the reg bugs that come out at night, and come to the light. I have no idea except to move the light away from the door.  Sorry

  3. if you rub lemon juice or lime juice where theyre entering [cracks on windows and doors] the acid will kill them and stop them from coming back it works
