Jung Jae Sung – Lee Yong Dae claim Men’s Doubles title at Indonesia Open Premier Super Series 2012
Korea’s top shuttlers proved their superiority in the arena as they claimed Men’s Doubles title after beating Denmark’s Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen in the title match of Indonesia Open Premier Super Series 2012 on Sunday, June 17, in Indonesia.
The World Number 2 Jae Sung and Yong Dae, who was second seeded shuttlers in the Men’s Doubles draw of the tournament, showed their aggression in the court and overpowered their lower ranked opponent after an interesting fight.
The in-form Koreans showed their class by playing top quality badminton and overpowered their Danish opponents in three games by consuming 76 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, Boe and Mogensen also put up staggering show of fast and attacking badminton but failed to live up to expectations in the final set and lost to their higher ranked Korean opponents in rubber games.
In the opening set, the Danish duo put up superb show and took an incredible 6-0 lead on the score board. They remained in control and managed a reasonable gap until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Jae Sung and Yong Dae changed their tactics and played with precision. They gradually narrowed the gap on the score board by playing impressive badminton.
In the concluding phase, Jae Sung and Yong Dae were impressive in the court as they controlled their nerves and managed to win the set with a 23-21 score on the board.
In the following set, both sides played with precision and also pushed each other to the limit until the end of the opening half.
After the one-minute interval, Jae Sung and Yong Dae played better badminton and took an impressive 17-11 lead but failed to maintain their focus and made many uncharacteristic errors in the court and eventually lost the set with a margin of 19-21.
In the deciding game, Jae Sung and Yong Dae were on a completely different level as they played flawless badminton and maintained their supremacy throughout the set.
The Koreans were in complete control of the game and eventually won the deciding game with a stunning 21-11 score on the board.
Jae Sung and Yong Dae emerged as title winners as they defeated their Danish opponents in three games with a thrilling margin of 23-21, 19-21 and 21-11.
