Jungeled themed party!

my 16th birthday is coming up in april and i wanted to make a jungle themed party. i need many ideas and really cute things. post anything you think that i might like I WILL LOOK AT EVERYTHING

Decorations;

~ Green streamers hanging down like vines

~ Paw prints cut out of black paper and scattered

~ Toy snakes hanging everywhere

~ Pale blue bed sheet hung high from wall and gathered with fairy lights behind it. It'll look like a waterfall

~ Bamboo or bamboo canes

~ Bunches of bananas

~ Toy animals thrown across the room

Food

~ Sandwiches can be cut into animal shapes using cookie cutters

~ Jungle Juice - Make up your own punch with green limeade

~ Animal crackers

~ Gummy snakes

~ Pitta breads with food coloring painted on to look like paw prints

~ Cupcakes with animal print icing on

~ Half a melon cut into a bowl with tropical fruit in

For decorations you can do lots of different things!

You can get some stuffed monkeys and have them hang around the party area.  Put them on posts around the party area, anywhere where there's a ledge that they can hold onto or hang above, put a monkey!

You can get stuffed parrots and do the same thing!

You can go to the toy store and find figurines of Jungle animals and make each table about that animal and decorate it in that animal.  So if one table is a zebra, do a black tablecloth and white napkins, and then see if you can get plates that are zebra striped.  Then put some Zebra figurines on that table.  For the centerpiece, you can do either a black vase with white flowers, or do something with a stuffed zebra.  If you can find one that can hold flowers, or maybe find one that's a candle holder, etc.  Be creative.

Then the next table can be about Monkeys and do the table cloth in brown and have yellow as the accent.  Or you can do Tigers, Lions, there's a whole bunch of diffferent animals you can do!

Or you can just do each table with a green tablecloth, and then accents.

You can also go to the dollar store or party store and find the placemats that look like huge leaves and use them.  OR EVEN BETTER go to the florist and ask for banana leaves and use them as the placemats!  They're big and you can use them in a variety of ways!  You can put them under plates and platters and even decorate the walls and things with them!

Then get some bamboo and put them in the corners of the room and even tie some together and you can also put some leaves there.

You can also go to the crafts stores like Michaels, AC Moore, etc and go to the floral dept and see what you can find and decorate the party area with the florals you would find in the jungle.  Finding them in the craft store is less expensive and you can hot glue them where you need to, like to bamboo and decorate the whole area to them!  

You can use the big banana leaves as place mats, and then use some bamboo and leaves to decorate.  Then you can even get some bamboo plaecements or even blinds and cut them down to decorate!  There's SO much you can do!  Think earthy with this type of party.  Like leaves, bamboo, reeds, and things like that and then add in the animals!  They are important because it's their habitat.  You can add them to the tables, on the bamboo reeds around the party, you can have them hanging around or from areas, etc.

You can have Monkeys and parrots above the party looking down from people, any kind of jungle animal, even Koalas that go in trees, you can put above people and then animals like Lions and tigers you can put on the tables or get big stuffed ones and put them around the party area.  

Ask friends if they or their siblings have big stuffed animals you can borrow for the night, then decorate the party area with them.  You can put Lions, Tigers, Elephants, Zebras, any of them around the party floor, and on the tables, and then the Monkeys, birds, Koalas, up by the ceiling and over people's heads looking down.

Then you can have the bamboo and leaves and anything earthy decorating the party area.  I would try and check out  Martha Stewart's website or Rachael Ray's and see if any of them have ideas for a jungle party.  

I would also put up a LOT of those clear, stringed Christmas lights and have them all around the party area.  They will look reaally pretty like twinkling stars in the jungle.  You can also check out fineliving.com and see if they have anything, they do party shows a lot, they may have some ideas and websites on their website.

Buzz Jungle Party could be a good laugh!

For decorations, get lots of soft toy animals and place them around (a little brother or sister could be able to lend some extra). Hang green streamers all around the place.
