Jungle Bay set to shock My Kingdom in Talk Night Club Handicap at Newmarket
My Kingdom will definitely have a significant role to play, but Jungle Bay fascinates the most, especially after he showed his ability to maintain the standards in various conditions.
The 5-year-old made a great impression by sealing a comfortable victory at Lingfield earlier this month, and looks to have plenty in his favour in the Talk Night Club Handicap (Betfair Sprint Flat Series Qualifier, being held at Newmarket on Friday, August
17, 2012.
Jungle Bay went to Lingfield after suffering a few unlucky defeats earlier this season. The Jane Chapple-Hyam-trained did not show any rustiness, and pressed the leaders early on. An excellent start helped him lead four furlongs before the finishing line.
He came across to rail over 2f over, and stayed on well to stretch his advantage. Consequently, he won the Biffo's Belated 60th Birthday Handicap by three and a half lengths. After such a comprehensive victory, Jungle Bay’s confidence is at a high, and there
is no reason why he should not have a big run today.
There are 19 runners in the 6-furlong meeting, which is going to be started at 17:55 GMT. The triumphant runner will receive a cash prize worth £5,175.
My Kingdom has been performing consistently since the start of this season. Prior to his third place at Pontefract, the Ian Williams-trained was runner-up in six consecutive races.
He is doing nothing wrong these days, but needs to ride his lucky early to come out of this unlucky patch. The 6-year-old will certainly be among top three position holders.
Goldream performed very well last month. After clinching an easy victory at Wolverhampton, the 3-year-old perpetuated his good work to ensure the runner-up spot at Doncaster.
Luca Cumani’s charge was third on his latest start at Haydock. His consistent run is quite impressive, but expecting a winning performance from him will not be a wise move.
No one can raise questions over My Kingdom’s extraordinary racing abilities, but his unlucky spell provides Jungle Bay an ideal opportunity to add another triumph to his tally. A flawless performance is required though. We wish the best of luck to all the
runners.
