Jungleland to strike third win in a row in the Texaco Lubricants Trophy at Hall Green on 24th April
The Texaco Lubricants Trophy will get held at Hall Green over 645 metres flat on Tuesday, 24th April. Contesting in the race are Cusco, Killieford Blaze, Mall Return, Jungleland, Holdem Angel and Glenside Pearl.
One of the most promising entries for the race is Jungleland, Razldazl Billy’s three-year-old black son out of b***h, Ballymac Floss. Out of the nine races that he took part in, Jungleland won four.
His seasonal debut was in a 258 metres race at Hall Green on 20th February which was won by Ballybride Black who timed the track distance in 16.01 seconds. Jungleland followed the winner the closest after leaping through the 1 ¾ lengths’ gap.
On 5th March, he posted the first success of the season by completing a 480 metres trip in 28.96 seconds at Hall Green and leading the runner up, Killishin Monty, by 8 ¾ lengths.
He missed the next two races that followed, ending sixth at Nottingham and then managing a fifth position at Henlow.
Jungleland dominated a race for the second time during the new season on 31st March at Hall Green after timing the 480 metres’ distance in 28.94 seconds. He took charge of the final 6 ¾ lengths of the race and was joined by Ballycasey Girl as the runner up of the race.
He could not maintain the benchmark and failed in two more races, first he ranked fifth and then fourth.
He was the 6/4 favourite winner of a Grade A2 480 metres flat at Hall Green on 18th April. He reached the other end of the wire in 28.78 seconds and kept the runner up, Westview Merlin, adrift by eight and a half lengths. He took 29.46 seconds to rest the race and was soon joined by Idols Eye.
His most recent success was in a Grade A1 480 metres flat at Hall Green on 21st April at Hall Green. He clocked the track distance in 29.16 seconds and had Princess Madison finishing the closest.
The 7/4 favourite of the race, Smoke Fairy, concluded the race fifth behind the winner.
Jungleland has all the chances of attaching a third string to his victories.
