Question:

Junior's win?

by  |  earlier

So is anybody just genuinely happy for junior? Seems like everyone on here is mad that he finally won. Maybe its because now they don't have anything to pick on him about. He won. It doesn't matter that it was under caution...many other drivers have won this way. It doesn't matter that it was on fuel mileage....again, other's have won this way. Why try to find things to discredit his win? What is the point?

  1. They warned him.....enough said about the pass car issue, I've seen others do this as well........

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  2. As a Kasey Kahne fan i was hoping to see them race to the flag , but JR done what he had to do and won fair , the pace car thing people are whinning about had nothing to do with the outcome so i dont see why a penalty for that would even make sense he got warned and then stayed behind the pace car no harm no foul , Congratulations to Jr and all the 88 fans on the win.  Go #9

  3. Nice to see him win, but would have liked it to end under green. He had a good car.

  4. Edited to note -- Maybe read my whole d**n answer before giving me a thumbs down and making yourselves look like asshats, okay? Thanks.

I'm proud of his team. They made exactly the right moves and pulled out a win that was uncertain until the very last second. The commentators repeated over and over that both Earnhardt Jr. and Eury Jr. were unsure of whether they had saved enough fuel, and it was a huge gamble that they took staying out when they had a chance to pit and everyone had fresh tires and full tanks behind them. That's a difficult thing to do, especially when you are third in points and staying out means risking so much -- Dale may not have even finished in the Top 20 had he run out of fuel. He had run well all day; certainly not perfectly, but good enough to expect a finish that would reflect that. I think Dale is just as proud of this win as he would be if it had been green flag until the very end, because the way that he achieved this win is fantastic on it's own, and with all of the controversy surrounding Tony Eury Jr., it's great that his excellent calls have pushed doubts behind them. I hope the team can move forward and get more wins, and shut up all of the people who want to call themselves NASCAR fans, but don't have the respect for these drivers to just give a little credit where it's due.

A lesson that the Y!A community should learn from this -- we will never all be happy, no matter what happens, so instead of talking out of our asses and offending fellow fans, we should show a little respect and start enjoying the RACE!!

  5. Jr should have been BLACK flagged for cheating

  6. He passed the pace car under caution. This is a violation of the rules and he should have been penalized.

But his name is Earnhardt, so let's just sweep his cheating under the rug.

  7. This win just gives his fans reason to think he's the greatest thing ever until the next time he wins. I would much rather him beat the other 42 out of pure skill and having a fast car, but he probably won't win anymore this season (remember 2006) unless it's another fuel mileage race, he seems to be good at those.

  8. I've gotten over the whole pace car thing because I'm a Kahne fan., but I'm a Vickers fan too, and NASCAR screwed Brian Vickers over!

  9. totally agree, noone said anything when Kyle won this way

  10. Of course I'm genuinely happy to see him win. Jr is my favorite driver and he drove a very good race. Talk all the c**p you want, Hater Nation! He drove a smart, CLEAN race all day long, and his fuel gamble at the end paid off. How soon we forget that he had THE FASTEST car on the track many times today at the end of the green-flag runs. As for his "passing" the pace car - He did NOT advance his position or gain a competitive advantage for doing so, so therefor he was NOT penalized - learn how to interpret your rules before complaining! As soon as NASCAR warned him about it he dropped back and went back into fuel-conservation mode.

Today was a VERY good day for those of us who call ourselves Jr Nation!!! Now that the gorilla is off of his back - be afraid, y'all - BE VERY AFRAID!!!

  11. I think it would have been better if he had won without the caution, but there's nothing anybody can do about that because that was the way it turned out to be.

What annoys me though is that Jr fans and Jr haters seem to attack each other like never before after this win. Can't we just be "Nascar fans" and not "Jr fans" or "Jr haters"?

  12. i am.  glad he won, that is.  boy made a tough decision to leave the company his dad built for him because they weren't "gettin' 'er done."  then he moved to the "dark side" at HMS in spite of what his fans might have thought, knowing he'd get his best shot there.  and he's put up with a lot of c**p about keeping tony eury jr. around lately, and look what tony jr. did for him today.

so, heck yeah, even i'm glad for him.

  13. im happy for him

  14. I am thrilled he won!  I picked him in the weekly pool at work, so his win brought me $80!

It is long overdue to him, even though I am a Stewart fan!

These races are won on pit strategy, and fuel mileage.  Simple as that...

  15. go Jr.!! a win is a win!!

  16. EVERY driver plays the fuel mileage game at some point,

    So don't knock Jr's win,

unless you're willing to give up ALL the wins YOUR driver got, playing it too.

Jr wasn't racing the pace car

He did NOT pass anyone for position

He gained no advantage from it

    get over it.
