I'm a secondary 3 student.

my combi :

English

Chinese

A Maths

E Maths

Core Geography

Elect Lit + Social Studies

Pure Chem

Pure Bio

im really confused on where to go !

i love my maths and sciences, especially BIO :D

a JC entry would most probably mean an entry to NUS also,

but i hate chinese and im failing it, its almost impossible to get into a JC.

a poly for me would be better although i dont fancy going overseas for universities with a bio/zoology degree.

which one should i choose?

  1. you should go for passing your Chinese and get into JC.

You said it's almost impossible to pass Chinese, so it's still possible, work for it. Moreover, you should know about the growing importance of the Chinese language, need I say more.

  2. i say JC

i don't know about current rules, but when i did my O lvls back in 1995, your best L1R5 (english + 5 other best subjects) that makes up the score for consideration for entry into JC can exclude chinese.

I did really badly for chinese also, but my grade for chinese was not included in my score and i made it to JC.

You might also want to consider that when u do your A lvls, u need at least a D7 in chinese (again, during my time, check if the rules have changed). otherwise when u get into NUS, u would need to take a chinese module or attend a chinese camp or sumthin... urgh....

    well... have fun!!
