Junior Girl's Doubles quarter-final results of the Polish Junior and Cadet Open: Table Tennis News
The twelfth International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) junior event is in progress at Poland. The Polish Junior and Cadet Open started on May 25 and will conclude on 29. The quarter-finals of the Junior Girl's Doubles was contested on the second day of
action.
The first quarter-final was won by the duo of Szocs Bernadette from Romania and Solja Petrissa from Germany. They marked a notable victory against the pair from Czech Republic of Adamkova Karin and Tomanovska Katerina. The Czech Republic players were not
able to win a single game and the final match score was 11-6, 11-3 and 11-8.
The second quarter-final of the Junior Girl's Doubles was won by the Russian players; Blazhko Anna and Mozyakina Nadezda. They won over the duo of Krieghoff Anna and Schuh Anja from Germany in straight games. The final match score was 12-10, 11-9 and 11-8.
The third quarter-final was played between the Swedish pair of Bergstrom Linda and Karlsson Michaela and German Imamura Yuko and Kraft Theresa. The Germans only let the Swedish girls win a single game, with the final match score of 10-12, 3-11, 12-10 and
5-11.
The last match of the quarter-finals of the Girl’s Doubles was won by the Japanese duo of Miyake Natsumi and Matsumoto Yuki. The Japanese players defeated the pair of Polcanova Sofia from Austria and Dora Madarasz from Hungary. The match remained head-to-head
as none of the duos wanted to give up, but at the end one wins and one loses. The match remained levelled till the fourth game, but the Japanese girls moved a step ahead and won the final decider-game of the match with a score-line of 11-4, 11-7, 8-11, 10-12
and 13-11.
In the semi-finals Szocs Bernadette and Solja Petrissa will face the Russian duo of Blazhko Anna and Mozyakina Nadezda. The second semi-final will be played between the German players Imamura Yuko and Kraft Theresa and the Japanese Miyake Natsumi and Matsumoto
Yuki.
The matches will be played today, along with the Boy’s Juniors Doubles. The young girls will be fighting high to make a place in the finals of the championship as it is the first event after the world championship.
