Junior National Badminton Championship: Aditya Joshi ousts Ravi Kushwaha in the round-of-32
India’s budding shuttler, Aditya Joshi, proved his lofty skills as he defeated Ravi Kushwaha in third-round contest of Boy’s Singles U17 category at the 36th Junior National Badminton Championship 2012, in India, on Thursday, February 9.
Aditya, who is top seed in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, stamped his supremacy over Ravi by winning the match in straight games without facing any trouble.
On the other hand, Ravi failed to put up strong resistance as he was clearly lacking the speed and finishing touch in his strokes. He lost the straight-set contest in just 19 minutes.
The start of this battle was interesting when both boys showed their passion by playing to their maximum potential. However, Aditya did not consume much time in taking control of rallies and started to build a lead.
The top seed put up fabulous show by playing attacking badminton. He did not miss any chance to win points against his lower ranked opponent. Until the break, Aditya was far ahead of his rival on the score board.
After the break, Aditya continued his aggressive play as he did not let his challenger to reduce the difference. He played with variations and manipulated the weaknesses of Kushwaha, who played negative badminton.
Aditya did not waste any time in taking advantage in the match by winning the first set with a sensational margin of 21-11.
In the second game, Aditya was everywhere in the court as he moved incredibly fast and took the bird early. He disturbed the flow of his rival and did not let the pace of rallies down as he executed attacking strokes from all areas of the court.
On the other hand, Kushwaha could not take the bird early and also committed numerous unforced errors. He failed to stop the attacking play of his higher ranked opponent and remained behind on points table.
Aditya was fully focused in the second game and he won it without wasting any time by an incredible 21-8 margin on the score board. The overall score of this Boy’s Singles U17 contest was 21-11 and 21-8.
