Junior National Badminton Championship: Sruthi K.P. crushes Ayesha Nazneen A. in qualifying round
India’s spirited shuttler Sruthi K. P. showed a great performance on court as she continued her winning run and reached into Women’s Singles U19 main round after beating Ayesha Nazneen A. in qualifying round at 37th Junior National Badminton Championship-2012
in India, on Sunday, November 11.
The un-seeded Sruthi, who stayed calm and focused on court in all of her matches, remained consistent on court and managed to stamp her mark over Ayesha while taking just 20 minutes on court.
Sruthi was in good form on court as she did not face any trouble on court and remained successful in giving a severe lesson to her team-mate in straight sets by putting up a staggering total on the score board.
On the contrary, Ayesha employed all of her skills to put up strong show but failed to play positive badminton and eventually crashed out without proving her mettle on court.
In the starting set of the match, Sruthi was in charge of rallies as she played attacking badminton while remaining positive and set up an early lead.
The in-form Sruthi was incredibly comfortable in taking the bird early and she did not encounter any trouble in executing her strokes in gaps.
Sruthi did not show any respect to her passionate opponent and easily maintained a wonderful lead on score board until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the lofty Sruthi was focused on court and kept the pace of rallies high in all areas and eventually maintained the gap on score board
It was a smooth sailing for the impressive Sruthi who did not face any considerable opposition from Ayesha and won the set with a superb 21-15 margin on the board.
In the second game, Sruthi became more aggressive and she did not let the pace of rallies down in opening half and took a wonderful lead until the end of opening part.
After the break, Sruthi displayed her tremendous craft by keeping the pace of rallies at the same level and won the set with a completely crushing margin of 21-6.
Sruthi won this qualifying round clash in straight games with a dominating 21-15 and 21-6 score on the board.
