Junior athletes to shine at the upcoming National Beach Volleyball Championship
The Canadian National Beach Volleyball Championship is scheduled to start in the month of August. The Ashbridges Bay has been chosen as the venue to host the eye-catching action from August 26-28.
In the past, the Volleyball Canada has organised five events of this kind. The Canada Volleyball is optimistic about the success of sixth Beach Volleyball Championship.
The championship will be dedicated to the Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-21 players of both genders.
Moreover, the players of senior division 1 and 2 categories will also be on the board to showcase their wonderful skills. This championship is generally considered the major highlight of Canadian Beach Volleyball Season and it attracts loads of talented
beach volleyball duos. The young crop of players also catches the limelight through this wonderful competition.
Volleyball Canada is optimistic about the success of this event. It will surely catch the attention of many of the young stars of beach volleyball.
In the men’s division, the pairing of Martin Reader and Chaim Schalk will be tagged as defending champions. Similarly, the dynamic duo of Liz Maloney and Heather Bansley will defend the title in women’s section. Garrett May and Sam Schachter will enter the
competition as the FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH Junior champions.
Moreover, some other big names such as pro tour regulars Christopher Redmann/Richard Van Huizenand and Marie-Andrée Lessard/Annie Martin will also make their presence felt on the sands of Ashbridges Bay.
The coordinator of Canada’s national volleyball events, Mariève Millaire was excited to return to Toronto.
He stated, “We are excited to return to Toronto this year for beach nationals. Ashbridges Bay is a great venue for this event combining ideal location and a high quality venue.”
In the succession of events, Volleyball Canada is scheduled to organise the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch Youth World Championships in the month of August. The Canadian city of Halifax will host the exciting event, while will complete its run in September.
The beach volleyball duos all over Canada are getting ready for the upcoming championships, as they will get a chance to shine on the horizon.
