  1. Depends on the team, the coach of the Tier 2 Junior A team in my town makes $17,000 a year.  I know the coach in a neighbouring town makes less.

    Most coaches at the levels below Major Junior A have day jobs and coaching is secondary.


  2. I kow it is pretty low.  The previous guy said $17k and that sounds about right.  It is definitely not enough in light of the amount of commitment, time and energy required for the job.  It's easily another full-time job for the coaches.

       I know a guy (my big Bro) who coached 17 year-old 'AAA' and won coach of the year in Ontario, presented to him at an award ceremony at the HHOF, and I know he gets paid basically nothing!
