does any1 no if calculators are allowed to be brought into the junior cert maths exam ? tanx XxXxXx

  1. Yeah calculators are definitely allowed. I would recommend the Casio Scientific calculator fx-83ES as it has a function to do those long slightly complicated sums where you don&#039;t know which part to do first because there is brackets and fractions and everything. I used it in June and it was brilliant. It also does the scientific notation. In the exam hall they will give you a log table with the trigonometry tables and the shape formulas in it. They also give you the graph paper but you have to bring your maths set. Good Luck.


  2. yes, they are of course! you have to write the name of the make of your calculator and it&#039;s model number on the outside of your answer  booklet.

    there&#039;s a few calculators that aren&#039;t allowed - but they&#039;re very rare, and hard to find so it&#039;s likely you have a standard one! the only ones that aren&#039;t allowed are ones that plot graphs for you!
