Junior dos Santos still looking forward to his fight with Alistair Overeem – UFC News
Junior dos Santos, the current Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Heavyweight Champion, wants to go head to head with Alistair Overeem despite the fact that Overeem was recently diagnosed with having elevated testosterone levels. Santos, in his recent interview,
said that he does not care about what the tests say but he wants Overeem in the ring.
Confident Santos’ statement read, “If the fight happens I will fight with pleasure, but I can tell if it is proved that the use of illegal substances is disrespect to the sport and something unfair to me. The ratio of testosterone in his body that there
may be increased by 30% his strength and aggressiveness of it, I was told people who know the subject. Will really be unfair fight, but as a fighter will be ready to face anyone. If the athletic commission and the UFC want I'll fight him. I am a fighter and
will be there to fight, but it is sure to be disrespect to MMA and how serious is this sport.
He further said that this would be unfair since he has never used such stuff to enhance his performance. According to him, the best way is to get the tests done the way they are done in the Olympics which is that instead of testing the urine they test the
blood to find out about such illegal substances more easily. He added that everyone wants to know who the best man is and that he is the champion without ever using such stuff. He further said that he is in favour of getting more rigorous tests done to assess
testosterone levels of a fighter. He said that he wants his match with Overeem to be a clean one without any injustice.
Junios dos Santos further said that he finds it to be curious that he won three belts without using any performance enhancing drug or anything else for that matter. He said his life’s biggest challenge was against Cain, the title match. Santos asserted that
Overeem would be a great challenger and his biggest challenge to date only if the fight happens.
