  1. You're better off than me, I have a 2.2 that I seriously need to get up there in my junior year which is also this year.

There's nothing you can do to raise your GPA except for to do good and not slack off in any of your courses. However, if you want to make sure you have some cushioning for your college applications later on down the road, join clubs, get involved in sports if you haven't already. Key club and some other things are good ones because they show you get involved with things, I'm joining key club as well as the writing club and the book group at my school this year, but as for your GPA, you just need to do well in your classes and it will be brought up in no time.

  2. First of all, make sure you have your priorities straight with your extracurricular activities. Extracurricular Activities are great to put on your college apps, but don't fill up your time that you need to be doing homework in. there's no reason you can't get your GPA past 3.0 in 2 years, but keep in mind that the transcript you send in with your application only has your grades up to junior year.

Try to enroll at the community college and take dual credit classes. That way, you can rack up easy 4.0 grades before you even graduate high school, learn what college classes are like, and have a good excuse to not be at the high school 2 or 3 days out of the week.

GPA is important, but make sure you smoke the ACT or SAT tests. You should be taking one or both of those tests this fall if you are going to be a junior. Those scores are what compares you to all the students applying to a college that didn't go to your high school or come from your school district. ACT/SAT scores will do as much to get you in to the college you want as your GPA.

If you have a dream school that you might have a hard time getting into, don't lose sleep over it. There are lots of non-brand name colleges out there that will give you much more for your money and effort. Or, if you just gotta go to that college but don't get in at first, go to your backup choice school and keep your college GPA up, then transfer.

This is a critical semester for you as a junior. Don't s***w around with the time you have. Go to the library, bookstore, guidance counselor and read up on schools, ACT/SAT test prep, scholarships, etc etc.

    You Can Do IT!!!
