Junuzovic’s future at Austria Vienna was under widespread speculation as the player’s contract was set to end in the summer and he was not being offered a new deal. The deal ended in favour of both parties as Junuzovic now has the chance to play in a bigger and a better league.
The Austrian international expressed his delight on the move and admitted that it is the next step in his career. The player is eager to perform and wants to help the club qualify for the UEFA Champions League at the end of the season.
“I am very happy. This should be an important move with regard to my whole career. Werder Bremen is a very good club and Bundesliga is a very exciting competition. I am keen to impress,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, manager Thomas Schaaf insisted that it is an important signing for the club as the player will certainly add to the depth of the squad. He insisted that the player will have ample playing opportunities to prove himself and is looking forward to the attacker’s performances.
“He has not much time to settle at our club, but he is a good player. He will be getting his chances and we are looking forward to seeing him play for our club,” he concluded.
