Jupp Heynckes: Bayern Munich are showing their true colours this season
Having gone four points clear at the top, Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has showered praise on his side’s clinical show this season. The Reds have only lost twice in all competitions so far this season and find themselves in a healthy position.
Bayern are currently leading the Bundesliga with 25 points from 11 games and are four points clear of the second placed Schalke. The Reds are also atop the Champions League Group A with seven points, followed by Napoli, Manchester City and Villarreal in
that particular order.
Jupp Heynckes applauded his players on their outstanding display and urged them to maintain the same momentum for future assignments. He thought that his team have done remarkably well under trying conditions and deserve to achieve something special.
The manager also reserved praise for Mario Gomez whose scintillating form has led Bayern to some smart results thus far. Gomez is currently the leading goal scorer in this year’s competition, having scored 12 goals in 10 games.
When asked about Saturday’s victory over the city rivals, Nurnberg, Heynckes thought that his side were ominous during the 90 minutes where they never allowed their opponents to get a sniff of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Neuer’s goal.
While talking to the club’s official website about weekend’s game, the 66-year-old further stated, "It certainly helped that we took an early lead, but we are now playing beautifully. The team is playing excellent football, while we are very organised and
keep the ball well.”
The manager also added, "One look at the body language of the players suggests that they have fun playing football, and this is a very important aspect in order to play successfully. During the break I appealed to my players that we keep a clean sheet, and
we continued to play seriously and confidently."
Heynckes, at the same time, confirmed of injury to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003.
Bayern will host the Italian side on Wednesday, November 2, before returning to league action on Sunday, November 6, against Augsburg. A win for the Reds against Napoli will guarantee them a place in the round-of-16.
