The Bayern Munich manager has insisted that his side will give their all for a win at home despite a 2-0 advantage from the first-leg.
The Munich giants won the first-leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Olympique Marseille. The team has one foot in the semi-final after the win and need a draw in the second-leg to progress to the last four of
the competition.
Heynckes claimed that Marseille is not a side that will give up after the result in the first encounter. He admitted that the opposition will come with the intent of putting up a determined performance and Bayern have to be wary
of that.
The manager insisted that the players do not have the first-leg result in their mind and will play the fixture at Allianz Arena with the intent of another win, to go through with full confidence to the latter stages of the tournament.
“We should see that as a warning. It indicates that they’ll come to the Allianz Arena and give it everything they’ve got. The mood in the dressing room is that we don't want any trouble at all tomorrow. We'll play to win,” he was
quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Bayer Leverkusen boss added that the Bavarians will not underestimate their opponents at any cost and warned his side of complacency against the French team. He admitted that the club will take the game seriously as
any slipup could cost them a place in the semi-final of the competition.
“First, we won't underestimate our opponents, and second, we respect our opponents. On top of that, my team is once again totally focused on the match. I think we'll take it extremely seriously, and we'll secure the outcome we
all want,” the tactician concluded.
Bayern Munich will take on Marseille on Tuesday, April 3, at the Allianz Arena. The home side is leading 2-0 on aggregate and a draw could take them through for a possible clash with Spanish giants Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho’s
team downed APOEL in the first-leg in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cyprus-c2881 and are favourites to qualify for the last four.
