The Bayern Munich manager has showered praise on the current Real Madrid manager and has claimed that the Portuguese is one of the best in Europe.
Jupp Heynckes has hailed Jose Mourinho as one of the best in Europe ahead of Bayern Munich’s eagerly awaited UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena. The two sides will lock heads in the
first-leg on Tuesday night in Munich.
The former Bayer Leverkusen boss claimed that Mourinho has made his mark for every club he has managed and rated him as one of the best in the business. The German further insisted that Los Blancos have a lot of respect for the
Bavarian giants and admitted that the fans should anticipate a great fixture ahead.
Heynckes stated that he is well aware of the threats that Madrid can cause in the Champions League and admitted that the opposition has some great players who will certainly trouble his side.
“He is a coach who has left his mark everywhere. His current squad has broken all the records that ever existed at the club. He is one of the best coaches in Europe. I have many friends in Madrid, and therefore know that they have
a lot of respect for Bayern. I am well aware of our opponents, their players and their reserves,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the tactician defended http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 for his penalty miss against Borussia Dortmund last week. He insisted that the player is very disappointed on missing the chance and the team has been supportive. He criticised
the media for unnecessarily dragging the situation in the past week or so.
“If you are at Bayern and lose to Dortmund, it is common that the media voices criticism. There was no criticism at all from within the team. Arjen is a player who can make the difference,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich have the chance to play in the final of the UEFA Champions League in front of the home fans at Allianz Arena. But for that they have to get the better of Real Madrid, a team which has been in sensational form throughout
the season.
