Bayern Munich tactician Jupp Heynckes has expressed confidence that Ivica Olic will see out his contact at Allianz-Arena...
Bayern Munich manager, Jupp Heynckes is confident of retaining striker Ivica Olic until summers. He has spoken against Olic’s desire of leaving the club in January, advising him to see out his contract with the Allianz-Arena outfit.
Heynckes expressed desire of retaining all his players during the upcoming winter transfer window in order to keep the momentum going. He reckoned that it would not be a good idea to be engaged in these transfer affairs when the team is in the middle of
a close fight for domestic silverware.
He admitted to Olic’s frustration for not getting regular first team action but advised him to spend few more months at the club if he wants to grab hold of silverware this season. The manager also assured him of some action against Stuttgart on Sunday,
but did not promise him full 90 minutes on the pitch.
The tactician showed respect to the Croatian’s emotions who recently returned from a long term injury. He urged him to stay patient and wait for his turn as one never knows when the fortunes could turn.
Olic recently appeared in the Champions League game against Manchester City which the Reds lost by a 2-0 margin.
The player failed to impress the officials with his display but lasted for the entire 90 minutes to his credit.
Meanwhile, the manager breathed a sigh of relief with the recovery of midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. He told that the experienced player is back in training and would return to action in a week’s time.
While talking exclusively to Goal.com, the tactician further mentioned:
"We will wait and see whether we can bring him back into the squad against Koln [on December 16]."
Olic has hardly seen any league action since his return which has become frustrating for the Croatian international. As a result, the player had wished to part ways with the club in January.
The attacker has one league goal so far this season from seven appearances and his next possible destination could be Felix Magath’s Wolfsburg.
