The Bayern Munich manager has vowed to reach the final of the UEFA Champions League at the expense of Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich tactician Jupp Heynckes has insisted that the Bavarians can progress through to the final of the UEFA Champions League by defeating Real Madrid. He was talking ahead of his side’s second-leg encounter of the competition’s
semi-final to be held at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, April 25.
The Reds currently hold a slight advantage over Los Blancos after the first-leg win at the Allianz Arena. Heynckes mused that his side are full of confidence and raring to stand tall against Madrid’s challenge in the mid-week fixture.
He confirmed that each of his players are in fine form and capable of giving tough time to the hosts.
Heynckes admitted that it will be little harder for his team to settle in the opening minutes of the game but advised them to stay focussed and grab their opportunity on the break. While addressing official club website, the former
Bayer Leverkusen boss further added:
"We're aware that we'll need a goal or two, although we’re capable of that because we have outstanding forwards. But to start with, we have to keep it compact and tight, which will give us very good opportunities on the break.”
On the other hand, he urged the fans to come out in large numbers for their team’s support. He also specified that a single moment of complacency could result in a disaster and therefore urged his team to give more than hundred
percent in order to keep their chances alive of playing the final.
"It's extremely important we summon up our full potential. We have to give it 100 or even 110 per cent. The last 10 per cent comes from emotional energy. If we succeed, we have a big chance of making the final," Heynckes concluded
Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga with 67 points and already out of title race with Borussia Dortmund already securing a decisive lead with two games to play in the competition. If the Reds are able to brush aside Madrid’s
challenge then they will either play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the final on May 19.
