As a result, Bayern go into the traditional winter break atop the league standings with 37 points.
Heynckes told that his team was up for Koln’s challenge and they desperately wanted to beat the proud Billy Goats who were unbeaten at Allianz-Arena prior to Friday’s meeting.
The manager believes that his side performed brilliantly and coped well with the loss of Ribery before the interval.
While talking to the club’s official website, the tactician further enthused:
"Ribery’s sending off made it even more difficult, but my team responded magnificently. We struck at the decisive moments, we let them have nothing at all, and we kept our discipline. We fully deserved to win, and it was the right
margin of victory too. We dominated the match and translated our footballing class into goals."
The former Bayer Leverkusen boss is all praise for the in-form striker, Mario Gomez, who scored his 16th league goal of this campaign from as many appearances. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 also opened his account for the season with his
late strike.
Gomez opened the scoring almost immediately after resumption of the second-half, followed by strikes from Alaba and Kroos in the 63rd and 88th minute, respectively.
Heynckes has expressed his satisfaction with Friday’s result and is hoping to have an even better second half of the campaign as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 returns from injury.
"Once we have Schweinsteiger [Bastian] back, and once Robben [Arjen] is fully fit again, we’ll certainly do well in the second half of the season.” The manager concluded.
