The Bayern Munich Supremo insisted that he is delighted with the club’s showing so far and is hoping for another good six months.
Bavarian manager Jupp Heynckes has expressed his delight on the winning mentality of the team and is satisfied with the first six months of the season. He admitted that there have been low points also this season but that happens
as no team is perfect.
The former Bayer Leverkusen manager claimed that the side has achieved the targets set for the first-half of the season and are deservedly number one on the Bundesliga standings table during the winter break. He added that the
team has improved on many aspects and shortcomings from the previous campaign and are surely a better side now.
“My team played some extraordinarily good football for long spells. But then we had a short dip but that’s in the nature of things. You'll never manage an entire season at a consistently high level. But overall, we've hit the targets
we set ourselves so far,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach striker further added that the team needs to show the same determination and passion in the next six months to win the Bundesliga title. He admitted that any lapse in concentration could cost
them as Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are not far behind.
The Munich giants only have a three point advantage over the Borussians and Die Knappen and a bad result would surely bring the other two teams back in contention for the top spot.
“In the second half of the season, we have to play with the same élan, continue to improve, and aim for perfection,” the tactician concluded.
Bayern Munich will seek revenge against Borussia Monchengladbach when they return from the winter break at the Borussia Park as Lucien Favre’s side downed the Bavarians on the opening day of the season.
The match will be played on Friday, January 20, and the visitors will have a chance to extend the lead to six points with a win as Dortmund and Schalke will play their matches the in the following days.
