Veteran coach, Jupp Heynckes, has stressed that he might not retire from the managerial role just yet after helping Bayern Munich win the historical treble this season.
Bayern Munich team trainer, Heynckes, has revealed that he will not join Spanish club Real Madrid next season after guiding his side to Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and German cup titles this term. On the other hand, he also said that retirement is
not on the cards at the moment.
“I told my wife last year that my plan was to fulfil my contract and then quit. I did not have any holiday last year and I've noticed in the past few weeks that I was close to my limits,” Heynckes said.
The experienced boss’ current deal expired with Der FCB at the end of the season and it was earlier rumoured that former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 head coach Pep Guardiola will replace him before the 2013-14 season. However, there is speculation that he was shortlisted
to take over the vacant position at Los Blancos after Jose Mourinho left the club.
“Other clubs showed an interest in signing me. There were some rich clubs, where money is not an issue, and there were clubs where you can enjoy yourself. And there was a big team that's not at Bayern's level at the moment,” he added.
Therefore, he has decided to take some time off from football. He revealed that last year he told his wife that he will retire from the game once his contract with Die Roten runs out. This was because he did not vacation back then and has had a long season
this time as well.
“I am going to enjoy a holiday now, though,” the head coach finally concluded.
The former Real Madrid tactician stated that a lot of clubs want him as their manager. He suggested that all kinds of team were after him. Nevertheless, he is looking forward to a deserved holiday. He said that he will take a sabbatical and will not work
in the German league or anywhere else next term as he wants some time off.
