All the three players suffered minor knocks in the game against Hoffenheim at the weekend which the Munich giants won comprehensively by a 7-1 margin.
Striker Gomez opened the scoring for the home side in just the fifth minute but suffered a knock after a challenge from the opposition defender. The tackle caused a cut to the striker’s shin but the player preferred staying on
the pitch.
The Bavarian giants were 5-0 up before half-time and immediately added sixth to their tally with Gomez completing his hat-trick on the 48th minute mark. The former Stuttgart star started feeling the after effects of
that early knock and was eventually forced off the field in the 57th minute.
While talking to reporters after the game, the 26-year-old further added: "I have a hole in my shin. It looked bad, but fortunately it's nothing serious. There's nothing broken and nothing torn, so it's no problem."
Bayern manager, Jupp Heynckes, has also shown his concern over the fitness of Jerome Boateng who felt a strain in his leg muscle. The defender had to come off at half-time and was replaced with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anatoliy-Tymoshchuk-c5539.
However, the manager is confident that Boateng will start the game against Basel as it is a minor injury. "He's not torn anything, a muscle has just gone tight," Heynckes concluded.
On the other hand, Arjen Robben had minor hamstring issues during the game but managed to complete the entire 90 minutes. The Dutchman required a lengthy treatment on the pitch but is expected to play against Basel.
Robben bagged a brace in his side’s triumph, taking his season’s tally to seven from 16 league outings so far. He will also be required to prove his fitness in order to be part of the 18-men squad for the crucial Champions League
encounter.
Jupp Heynckes reckons that the trio must be fit for the second-leg tie against the Swiss side on Tuesday, March 13, at the Allianz Arena. Bayern are currently trailing Basel after the first-leg defeat away from home last month.
