The Bayern Munich manager has decided not to panic despite not being able to collect all three points from the Hamburg trip.
Jupp Heynckes reckons that there is a long way to go in the Bundesliga, and Bayern could still win the league despite drawing at Hamburg. He was talking in the wake of his team’s 1-1 draw against the Red Shorts at the Imtech Arena
on Saturday, February 04. Jacopo Sala and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 scored goals for their respective sides.
The tactician stated that the Reds applied themselves extremely well and were unlucky not to take their chances in the match. He opined that the hosts were outstanding on the night and rightly went ahead in the 23rd
minute after a lapse in concentration from Bayern Munich.
Heynckes insisted that his side were determined to win, and pressed extremely hard during the first 45 minutes. However, he considered his side unlucky after Bayern missed a host of chances to go ahead.
While talking during the post-match press conference, the 66-year-old further added:
"I don't want to throw accusations at the troops. Despite everything, we played well in the first half. Because the demands of Bayern Munich are somewhat greater, we can't be happy, that is clear. We needed to win here and we should
have had the urgency to make that happen."
As a result of Saturday’s draw, Bayern have also lost their lead atop the league standings to Borussia Dortmund, who are leading the table after winning against Nuremberg. Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, encouraged his side after
the hard fought win but was disappointed on the injury to Sven Bender.
"We showed patience, especially as Nuremberg only really threatened from dead-ball situations. My thoughts are with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sven-Bender-c34386, he has had really bad luck," Klopp concluded.
Bender was forced off the field in the 22nd minute, and was replaced by Moritz Leitner. The midfielder damaged his ankle ligaments and will stay out of action for an indefinite period of time, having only recovered from
a broken jaw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 last November.
