Jurgen Klinsmann says he wants time to compile the coaching staff – US Football News
German veteran Jurgen Klinsmann has taken over the reins of US national football team, the management announced on Monday after securing Klinsmann’s signatures until the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
However, the former German international explained that he does not want to rush things in the management and will take his time to formulate the coaching staff. He further added that he might also consider taking advice of Major League Soccer coaches and
other prominent figures in the US football system.
Sigi Schmid has been in close contact in the current season, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toronto-FC-c40744 have been seeking advice from the tactician over the years.
His foremost duty is to take the US team to a new level and the change would not come overnight. There is much work to be done for the team to cement a place in the world’s top 10 elite teams, he said.
The coaching staff will be the key in this regard but the decision should not be rushed. There are several options that Klinsmann would be weighing in the coming days.
“I won’t confirm a full-time staff over the next couple of months, because I want to see what’s out there,” Klinsmann said. “There are a lot of good, highly qualified coaches in the US that I might not know. So I need to talk to people, I need to understand
what’s out there.”
Klinsmann spent the last decade in the US and knows the US football system more than any other choice at hand. The former Die DFB-Elf striker targeted the youth system in particular and added that he will be consulting Tab Ramos more frequently for the happenings
at U-17 and U-20 levels. Ramos is currently the head coach of the U-20 US team.
Further stating at the press conference, Klinsmann also mentioned the US Youth Soccer Technical Director, Claudio Reyna.
“I want Claudio very close to me,” Klinsmann said. “He will always be part of the staff.”
Speaking of the U-20 head tactician, he said: “I want Ramos’ perspective and his information about what’s coming though at the Under-20 and Under-17 level.”
The coaching staff was not relieved of its duties when Bob Bradley was let go but Klinsmann showed his reservations in keeping Bradley’s staff. The outfit for August 10 international friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956 will not house permanent coaches, he added to the
statement.
Moreover, the coach welcomed the first challenge presented to him; Mexico, and assured that the results will be to the fans' satisfaction.
