The Borussia Dortmund manager has voiced his delight after securing three points against Bayern Munich and going six points clear atop the league table.
Borussia Dortmund tactician Jurgen Klopp has expressed his pleasure at beating Bayern Munich and strengthening chances of retaining the crown. Klopp was talking in the wake of his side’s 1-0 win over the Bavarian giants on Wednesday,
April 11, at the Signal Iduna Park. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255 scored the only goal of the game in the 77th minute.
The manager stated that his players showed immense determination in front of the home fans and applauded them on their display. He mused that the Borussians should have scored more goals having controlled most of the possession.
However, he was still satisfied with the display and congratulated his team on further imposing their authority over the Munich giants.
Klopp claimed that Dortmund were extremely impressive in the second period and deserved to go in front. He praised Lewandowski on keeping his composure and adding one more goal to his tally taking his season’s count to 20 from
30 league outings so far.
However, the former Mainz boss urged his side not to relax until the final matchday and continue their winning run in the coming games. He enthused that Dortmund have less time to prepare for the game against Schalke at the weekend
but still stressed at the importance of winning the game.
While talking during the pre-match press conference, the 44-year-old further added: "The final period was incredible. Hats off to my team, who could have played much better. I think the victory was well deserved, I am very happy. We
now have just three days to prepare ourselves for the next task - with our 'friends' in Gelsenkirchen [Schalke]."
The Westfalenstadion outfit is currently leading the summit with 69 points while Bayern are second with 63. With just four games remaining this season, Borussians are apparently safe from losing their crown unless they slip in
any of their remaining four games against Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke, Kaiserslautern and Freiburg.
Dortmund will now meet the Bavarians in the final of the DFB-Pokal on May 12, in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.
