The Borussia Dortmund manager has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2016.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 manager’s current deal with the club was set to expire in the summer of 2014 and there was speculation regarding the tactician’s future with reports tipping him as the successor of Joachim Low. However, the reigning German champions have announced that Klopp has no plans to leave the club and have added two more years to his contract.
Borussia Dortmund’s Sporting Director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Zorc, has also signed a new deal and has extended his stay at the club until 2016.
Club general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke expressed his delight on securing the future of the duo and admitted that the side is definitely on the right path. He insisted that the contract extensions were a mere formality and stated that it is a huge achievement for the club.
“We are very pleased that we have been able to extend these contracts so soon. Both have achieved exceptional work in recent years. I felt during the negotiations with both of them that they are extremely motivated to help form the future of Borussia Dortmund,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.
Jurgen Klopp was elated with the deal and admitted that he had no intentions whatsoever to leave at the end of the season. The manager claimed that the club’s decision to keep the manager and the sporting director shows its determination to succeed in the future.
“I am lucky to be able to work for such a fantastic club. For me as head coach, it is important that the contracts of my team have been extended. We know how to value the faith shown in us by Dortmund with these long contracts,” the former FSV Mainz boss concluded.
Borussia Dortmund will next face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 in an away game on Friday, February 3, in bid to remain on the heels of Bayern Munich, who lead the table due to a superior goal difference. The Dortmund based outfit has a goal difference of 29 in comparison to Bayern Munich’s 33.
