The Borussia Dortmund manager expressed his frustration on the dropped points against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 in the recent Bundesliga clash at home.
Die Borussen dropped two points in the league as they drew 4-4 against Stuttgart at the Signal Iduna Park. The home side are now six points ahead of Bayern Munich, who still have to play against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 on Saturday.
Klopp claimed that his side were certainly below par in the game and admitted that it was a disappointing performance. The manager added that there were lapses in defence, some situations he had not seen in a long time. He admitted
that the display could prove costly for his side as Bayern are right on the heels of the German champions.
The manager added that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neven-Subotic-c27632 looked out of sorts against Die Roten as the hosts conceded four times in the game. He insisted that his side cannot afford to perform in this manner if they are targeting to
lift the Bundesliga crown at the end of the season.
“There were one or two situations that we have never seen before. How Neven Subotic and Mats Hummels both went for the header [in Stuttgart's fourth goal], I cannot even respond, because something like that has never happened before,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Hummels expressed his disappointment on losing the two goal lead to eventually end the game 4-4. He stated that Dortmund played brilliantly in the game except the last 15 minutes and the opposition took advantage
of the mistakes made.
The defender admitted that his side conceded a poor goal in the dying minutes and stressed that the strike could have been avoided.
“We must never give away a 2-0 lead. But we played incredibly well after we were down 3-2. We went at a pace that our opponents could not contain. But then we allowed such a dirty equaliser,” he concluded.
Borussia Dortmund now await Bayern Munich’s result against FC Nuremberg on Saturday. A win for the Bavarian giants will take them with a touching distance of three points from the reigning German champions.
