The Borussia Dortmund manager wants his team to stay focussed after maintaining their lead atop the league standings at the weekend.
Jurgen Klopp warns his team against complacency after managing to beat Hannover at the weekend and extending their unbeaten run to seven games since the winter break. The Borussians played hosts to Mirko Slomka’s men on Sunday,
February 26, at the Signal Iduna Park and won the game by a 3-1 margin.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Perisic’s injury time goal sealed the victory for the Borussians. Didier Ya Konan bagged a goal for the visitors in the 60th minute. Klopp stated that his players
were looking forward to all three points before the match had started and Lewandowski was brilliant throughout the 77 minutes before being replaced by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-Barrios-c22533.
However, Klopp admitted that his side could have sealed the win early if they had not missed their chances in the first-half. The manager insisted that Bayern Munich’s results hold no great importance for his side as Dortmund do
not have to rely on other teams for silverware.
While talking to sports publication, Kicker, the former FSV Mainz tactician further added: "It was a very good game from us. It was only on ourselves that the game was not decided early. The 2-0 Bayern Munich had not surprised
us. That has no relevance to us."
On the other hand, Klopp mentioned that there is a long journey to cover in the Bundesliga and the title race is still open. He opined that Bayern and Borussia Monchengladbach could still win the title so Dortmund need to continue
producing favourable results in order to retain their crown.
"There are still 11 games and 33 points to be awarded. The talk about the championship does not interest us," the manager concluded.
Borussia Dortmund are currently at the top of the Bundesliga standings with 52 points, four points clear of second placed, Bayern Munich. The Borussians will next be in action against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 on Saturday, March 03, at the Signal
Iduna Park.
