Jurgen Klopp unhappy with Mario Gotze red card against Bayer Leverkusen – Bundesliga news
Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed anger at the dismissal of midfielder Mario Gotze during the match against Leverkusen. The two teams met on Saturday, August 27, at BayArena and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Gotze was given the marching orders in the second half, reducing the Borussians down to 10 men. Leverkusen’s midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michal-Kadlec-c25422 was also shown the red card in what turned out to be a dull and boring draw.
Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp reckons that his side were done injustice by the referee in showing Gotze the dreaded card. He stated that the German has a cool head on his shoulders and there was nothing intentional on the player’s part. Klopp believes that
had the midfielder stayed on the pitch, things could have certainly been different. The manager was also critical about his team’s lack of finishing in the draw on Saturday.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 manager told that Leverkusen adapted a defensive approach from the opening whistle, not allowing his strikers to make inroads. Klopp criticised the opposition’s strategy saying that the Werkself were simply afraid of his energetic youngsters
and as a result preferred sitting back. He also accused the referee for not reading the situation properly, demanding an explanation over the controversial decision.
The 44-year-old further mentioned, "It was unjustified. They get tangled up and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hanno-Balitsch-c15719 lifts Mario's leg up with his own. Both legs are in the air. For anybody who has never played football before, it could possibly look like he (Gotze) has kicked
out, but Mario is the last person to commit a violent offence. I have seen things far worse than that. I did not feel anything and I did not complain either. In my opinion, it was not a foul, but I was not really able to judge it properly in the heat of the
moment."
Dortmund are currently sixth on the league table with seven points from four games and will next be in action against Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 on Saturday, September 10.
