Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder, Shinji Kagawa, has received a call up to Japan’s national side for an international friendly against South Korea. The two rival nations are due to lock heads on Wednesday, August 10.
The player would fly back to his country after appearing in his club’s opening game of the new campaign on Friday, August 5, at Signal Iduna Park against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485. Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed concerns sighting player’s jet leg and has
highly criticized the Japanese officials for calling up the youngster for a single game.
Klopp reckoned that Kagawa recently returned back from a long term injury and it won’t be appropriate for the Japanese to make a long journey to Japan and then back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. He confirmed about the midfielder’s participation in the Borussians opening game
against Hamburger on Friday. The manager hoped that the player could repeat the performances from 2010/11 season and wished him success all the way.
The 22-year-old missed out on majority of the second half of the 2010/11 season due to an injury which he suffered while on international duty with the Japan national side at the Asia Cup. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746 in the
final. He only made a comeback in his club’s last game of the campaign when Dortmund’s title triumph was already confirmed. Kagawa was also inspirational in his team’s DFB Pokal first round win against Sandhausen last Saturday, which the Black Yellows won
by a 3-0 margin.
Both the manager and the club’s spokesman, Josef Schneck, were concerned with the long journey awaiting the Japanese, "It's not a good thing when he faces a long journey after our first league game and then returns to play week next Saturday. We had feared
this would happen. But he wants to go and we can't stop him. I hope he comes back healthy."
Kagawa joined Dortmund in 2010 and has netted 13 goals so far from 30 league games. He has five international goals under his belt from 22 games for Japan.
