The Borussia Dortmund manager has expressed his confidence in his side ahead of an all-important mid-week encounter against the Munich giants.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp has showed his delight at Dortmund’s improving performance in the last two seasons. He was talking ahead of his team’s crunch encounter against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, April 11, at the Signal
Iduna Park. A win for either side will strengthen chances of winning this season’s crown.
The tactician mentioned that it is an honour for him to manage such a determined unit. He claimed that the Borussians have converted into a side which are tough to beat and it will not just be a walk in the park for the Bavarians.
Klopp hailed his team’s efforts this season and is elated with the impressive displays.
While talking to reporters during the pre-match press conference, the boss further added:
"We have reached the level where people don't assume Bayern will win, and if we win it's not sensational. It'll be hard to beat us, even for Bayern. We could easily have been five points back. But as we are [at the league summit]
now, we might as well go and win it."
On the other hand, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke also expressed his pleasure at Bayern’s recent show in the Bundesliga. He believed that the team has settled perfectly under Klopp, who has enabled them to stand at the same level
with the likes of Bayern Munich.
"It is just a fantastic thing for us to be here, involved in such a game, when you consider how far we've come," Watzke concluded.
The Black Yellows currently sit atop the league standings with 66 points and lead the Reds by just three points. They have also qualified for the final of the German Cup where they will meet Klopp’s side again on May 12 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.
A jam packed Westfalenstadion is expected to cheer for the home side, who are fighting to retain their Bundesliga crown. Dortmund win will open a six-point gap between the two sides whereas a Bayern win will level the teams up
on 66 points.
