Jurgen Klopp wants Borussia Dortmund to respond positively after Arsenal defeat - Bundesliga News
Having lost to Arsenal during midweek in the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, has demanded a positive response from his team on Saturday. He reckoned that the upcoming local derby against Schalke is ‘the game of the season’ and
wishes to go top of the league standings by winning at the weekend.
The manager was talking in the wake of his team’s enthralling encounter against Schalke, scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 26, at Signal Iduna Park. A win for Dortmund will put them atop the league table, level on points with Borussia Monchengladbach.
Klopp opined that his team could turn tables on Saturday and get back to winning ways. He expressed confidence in his players and urged them to improve on their derby record. The Borussians have only won one of their last 12 home derbies, but a win at the
weekend could be their biggest of this season.
Dortmund are fresh from a midweek defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League and would certainly press hard against Schalke in order to restore pride amongst their ranks. The defeat means that the reigning German champions would have to score at least four
goals against Marseille in their last group F game.
However, Klopp encouraged his side on their current form, asking them not to think too far ahead and concentrate on the weekend’s game.
While talking to Bundesliga.de, the tactician further mentioned:
"Ahead of a game like this, the adrenaline is literally flowing through your veins. It's easy to regain focus for a game against Schalke. It's the game of the season. Anyone who hasn't been involved before can be thankful they're going to experience it for
the first time."
