Jurgen Roelandts continued his overall lead after the Tour De Wallonie-Picardie stage 2 classifications
Jurgen Roelandts of Team Lotto Belisol continued his overall lead at the Tour De Wallonie-Picardie after his fourth place finish during the second stage of the race.
The stage 1 winner rode watchfully right through the start of the event with overall classifications as his major goal.
Marcel Kittel of Team Argos-Shimano occupied the top podium spot with Nacer Bouhanni of Team FDJ-Big Mat and Aidis Kruopis of Team Orica-GreenEdge finishing at the second and the third positions respectively.
David Boucher of Team FDJ-Big Mat, Marcus Burghardt of Team BMC and Jurgen Roelandts of Team Lotto Belisol succeeded during the first, second and the third sprints of the race.
Stijn Neirynck of Team Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator claimed the first and the second mountain of the race whereas, Bjorn Thurau of Team Europcar and Laurens De Vreese of Team TopSport Vlaanderen succeeded during the third and the fourth climbs of the event.
David Boucher also won the most combative award after the stage 2 of the race after he launched the first attack in right from the start of the race.
Roelandts started the season on a high note after claiming a stage 4 victory at the Tour de Luxembourg and also manage to bag the opening stage of the Eurometropole Tour 2012.
He was looking good to claim an overall victory at the Ster ZLM Toer but could not match the likes of Mark Cavendish and Lars Boom.
The cyclist is now in a great position to walk home with an overall victory at the ongoing Tour De Wallonie Picardie after the stage 2 classifications.
