I have received a jury summons to appear in court as a possible juror. I have to spend one week at the court (i live in Toronto) and I was wondering, if someone was sick for one day out of the five, do they have to make up that one day at a later time?

  1. There should be someone at the court who can answer.

I was scheduled for Jury duty in the beginning of June.  It coincided with my Fathers' BD (out of town) and I was given a later date to make it up.

  2. Not sure where you live, but, here in the US the answer is no. I got lucky once with jury duty. I was chosen by the Feds to go for duty for 2 weeks. It was just before Thanksgiving. I took 2 weeks off from work as I worked midnights. I went the first day and was never called back, so I had all that time off to relax, enjoy the holiday, and start my Christmas shopping. Been called 4 times, have yet to be chosen.
