Question:

Jury duty, how to get out?

I just recieve my first summon for jury duty today and to be honest I don't really want to go. Is there a way for me to get out of this. If so do I email them about the excuse or write them a letter or anything. Also if I don't show up for jury duty, what would happen.

I think it may be a little difficult for me to get out since I don't work, I'm not in school right now (starting college this fall though), but I have a vision impairment due to cataract. I wonder is that a good enought excuse.

  1. Nope. Last time I was called I went and sat there all day, they called me into the courtroom and I said I didn't feel I could be fair, so they excused me.

  2. I know of ways but will not assist you in ignoring your civic duty & responsibility.

  3. if you changed your name send it back "no one by that name at this address.  A doctors excuse will only get you a postponement, even if you did work and your employer did not pay you, too bad you still go... Also they get your name from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. Maybe you can send it back saying your not an American Citizen.

  4. Tell them you hate minorities.

  5. Become a Police officer or commit a Felony

  6. no way to get out my friend.

  7. Just get a note from your doctor...that's what my dad did, and he got out.
