How often are the breaks during jury duty in trial?

  1. I recently served on a jury.  The dominant theme was the comfort of the jury during the trial.  We had several "breaks" during the morning and the afternoon.  Sometimes, it was a "recess" for the comfort of the jury; sometimes, it was a court thing where the jury had to leave for awhile so the lawyers could slug it out amongst themselves.  All in all, it was a very positive experience.  (We found "not guilty!")


  2. When the judge says so...

    There is always a lunch break.  But there is often a morning and afternoon break, but don't count on them.
